The kindergarten students celebrated Christopher Columbus Day. 
The students made a sailor’s hat that Christopher Columbus may have actually worn himself!  Each student made a booklet about the things that Christopher Columbus accomplished.  The students listened to several books read that told the story of his discovery.

     During October 6-10, we celebrated
Fire Prevention Week.  The students were visited by the Bloomingdale fire department.  During the visit, the firefighters
demonstrated and provided the students with an opportunity to practice fire safety rules.  In class, the students each created their own fire safety Dalmatian.  The bones displayed on the Dalmatian’s body contained fire safety rules such as:

• Never play with matches.

• Check your smoke alarm batteries.

• Always crawl under smoke.

• Stop, drop, and roll!
