Where All Children Can and Do Learn

Bloomingdale, like many communities in New Jersey is filled with diversity. 
In Kindergarten approximately twenty children speak another language at home,
or are exposed to one by parents or grandparents. 
We are proud of this multiculturalism and believe it makes
our school district that much richer.

The English as a Second Language program teaches children whose English language skills are not yet proficient.  Speaking, listening, reading and writing are emphasized and students must pass a test in order to exit the program. 
Likewise, the state of New Jersey just recently mandated an annual standardized test specifically formulated for English language learners
